El ciclo Pasionari@s CajaCanarias comienzo su programación 2019 con este espectáculo, protagonizado por el cantante canario Caco Senante junto con el pianista panameño Vicente Borland.

“El bolero siempre llama dos veces” aborda un repertorio donde tienen protagonismo los clásicos de este atemporal género musical. Con la característica narrativa que ya ha empleado Senante en otros espectáculos, hace un paseo por la historia del Bolero, recreando momentos y singularidades que existen alrededor de ellos. También se muestran canciones que nacieron perteneciendo a otros géneros musicales y terminaron siendo boleros, llegando a ser imprescindibles en el repertorio de los grandes especialistas. De este modo, Senante y Borland afrontarán un repertorio de boleros clásicos que va desde La Paloma o Quiéreme Mucho, hasta canciones que terminaron siendo boleros como Strangers in the night, My way o el tango El día que me quieras.

Caco Senante ha compuesto y grabado diversas piezas boleristas, algunas de las cuelas forman parte del repertorio habitual de sus directos. Fue invitado, en 1994, a participar en el Festival Boleros de Oro celebrado en Cuba, representando al Bolero Español. En 2011 dirigió e impartió un curso sobre El Bolero en la Universidad de Verano de El Escorial, donde contó con la colaboración de Borland que llevó a cabo una masterclass sobre Nat King Cole. El afamado pianista panameño, por su parte, a acompañado musicalmente a artistas de la talla de Celia Cruz, Moncho, Elsa Baeza, Sole Giménez o Ángela Molina, en sus respectivas incursiones en el bénero.
