Jardins de Pedra emerged in the post-industrial region of Almada/Seixal in the aftermath of the portuguese punk rock explosion of the late 1980s and early 1990s. In 1997 they recorded a demo tape entitled "Liberdade Decadente" containing two acoustic numbers, two rock numbers plus two other tracks captured live in the studio.
