SINOPSIS
En 1953, Mamadou Touré dirigió la película Mouramani, considerada como la primera película realizada por un cineasta negro francófono. Thierno Souleymane Diallo, interesado por las condiciones de su producción, recorre el país con su cámara de vídeo y un micrófono y filma todo lo que experimenta en el camino y durante sus conversaciones con responsables de archivos y aquellas personas que recuerdan la época. Sin embargo, nadie sabe dónde encontrar rastro de la película. El cementerio del cine es el retrato de múltiples capas de un país que se cree que desempeñó un papel pionero en el cine africano, pero que redescubre solamente la importancia del cine y los archivos para su identidad cultural y su historia.
SYNOPSIS
In 1953, Mamadou Touré directed the film Mouramani, considered the first film made by a black French-speaking filmmaker. Thierno Souleymane Diallo, interested in the conditions of its production, travels around the country with his video camera and a microphone, filming everything he experiences along the way and during his conversations with archivists and those who remember the period. However, no one knows where to find traces of the film. The Cementery of Cinema is a multi-layered portrait of a country that is thought to have played a pioneering role in African cinema, but which is only slowly rediscovering the importance of film and archives to its cultural identity and history.

En 1953, Mamadou Touré a réalisé Mouramani, considéré comme le premier film réalisé par un cinéaste noir francophone. Thierno Souleymane Diallo, intéressé par le contexte de sa production, voyage à travers le pays avec sa caméra et un micro, filmant tout ce qu’il vit en chemin et au cours de ses conversations avec des archivistes et ceux qui se souviennent de l’époque. Cependant, personne ne sait où trouver trace du film. Au cimetière de la pellicule est un portrait à plusieurs niveaux d’un pays qui pense avoir joué un rôle pionnier dans le cinéma africain, mais qui redécouvre seulement l’importance du cinéma et des archives pour son identité et son histoire.
