"Versión libre de esta sátira sobre la censura, la represión intelectual, la libertad de expresión, nunca hasta ahora representada en los teatros españoles.
“La isla púrpura” aborda la representación chapucera de la obra de dicho título. A toda prisa y sin preparación la compañía de Guenadi Panfílovich improvisa la función ante un único espectador, Savva Lukich, censor del régimen y única persona que puede dar el visto bueno para que la pieza llegue a ser representada. Urgencia: Lukich se va mañana de vacaciones. Horror: el director-Panfílovich- no tiene ni idea de lo que ha de representarse, por suerte tiene a su lado al dramaturgo Vasili Artúrovich Dymogatski, un periodista venido a menos que se hace llamar Julio Verne. El desastre está servido, la farsa va a dar comienzo."
