Pablo Derqui se pone en la piel del dictador más despiadado de todos los tiempos en Calígula, una de las grandes piezas dramáticas de Albert Camus dirigida por Mario Gas. Estrenado en el marco de la 63ª edición del Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Mérida, el montaje también formó parte de la programación del Grec 2017 Festival de Barcelona durante el mes de julio del 2017.
Calígula es una de las grandes piezas dramáticas del novelista y dramaturgo francés Albert Camus, uno de los autores imprescindibles de la Francia del siglo XX y premio Nobel de Literatura el 1957. Basada en el Emperador Romano descrito por Suetonius, Calígula es en realidad una serie de obras dentro de una única pieza. El protagonista de la obra, interpretado por Derqui, se encuentra frente a frente con el absurdo después de la muerte de su germana/amante y somete a sus súbditos a una aterradora serie de demostraciones de lo que él considera ser la verdad absurda: que los hombres mueren y son infelices.

La actuación de Pablo Derqui. Cuando está en escena, la llena. Tiene voz, declama magníficamente, danza y tiene garra. Me recuerda a Lemos.The worst of the event:
No hay peor. Todo está bien. Tesonia muy bien y los demás bajan un poco. No me gutó el estaticismo de las escenas, pero eso es Mario Gas. -
