On one particularly chilly and magical night, the residents of Almost — too populated to qualify as a wilderness but not organized enough to be a town — encounter the transformative power of the human spirit. As strangers become friends, friends become lovers, and lovers become strangers, relationships end, start, or alter beyond recognition.
