(Igualada, Barcelona. 1941). En el campo de la revalorización y la investigación científica de la música histórica en Europa juega un papel principal Jordi Savall. Su trayectoria intachable, en el campo del estudio de las aportaciones musicales antiguas, se ve avalada por los múltiples y variados trabajos publicados y reconocimientos otorgados a su persona. Musicólogo, compositor, violagambista, director de orquesta y profesor su trabajo, a lo largo de más de 50 años de entrega a la música antigua, han fructificado en sus 120 discos grabados o en la fundación de entes musicales tan relevantes como Hespèrion XX y Hespèrion XXI o la Capella Reial de Catalunya entre otros. Es pieza fundamental de la conservación del patrimonio musical hispánico.
