Elif Burgaz, piano y voz
Can Koçlar, trompeta, tanbur y kemençe

[ENG]
Barcelona-based composer, singer-songwriter and pianist Elif Burgaz takes the stage at Llibreria Byron for a special concert dedicated to her original music.

Joined by Can Koçlar on trumpet, tanbur and kemençe, Elif will perform a selection of compositions from her three releases — Dreamwalker, Hortum and A Sky Full of Stories — bringing together different chapters of her musical jouey in one intimate evening.

Bo in Izmir and now based in Barcelona, Elif’s musical language moves between classical and cinematic influences, the sounds of her native Turkey and contemporary songwriting.

With the piano at the heart of her compositions, her music creates a world that is at once melancholic, sincere and hopeful. Some pieces unfold without words, while others feature lyrics in her native Turkish.

From the personal storytelling of Dreamwalker to the sense of longing that shaped Hortum and the instrumental, cinematic landscapes of A Sky Full of Stories, the concert offers a jouey through Elif’s evolving sound as a composer and performer.

For this special performance, the trumpet, tanbur and kemençe of Can Koçlar will add new textures to the arrangements, creating a dialogue between contemporary composition and the musical traditions of Turkey.
