Along this tour we will visit the largest and most important gallery around the world, El Prado Museum, approaching the most outstanding artists and masterpieces in it.

First of all, we will get to know a little bit about both the origin of the building and the origin of the collections. We will learn how passionate about art the spanish monarchs were and the importance of the relations that they stablished with the most brillant paintors; from Tiziano, passing through El Greco, Rubens or Velázquez (between others), upto Goya.

Following a chronological order, we will go through the centuries between XV and XIX, placing special emphasis on those artists who worked in Spair or worked for the Spanish Monarchy, and answering questions such as "Why was El Greco rejected by Philip II for working in El Escorial monastery?", "Who is the woman in Velázquez religious paintings?" or "Where were Goya's Black Paintings originally placed and how they arrived to the museum?".

As plastic artist and art restorer that I am, I've prepared this tour in order for the visitor to dive into the great treasure that El Prado museum houses, understanding the different historic contexts and the relation between one artwork and the other, learning a lot and having fun at the same time :).
