The New York Band es una legendaria orquesta de merengue fundada en 1986 en Estados Unidos por Wilfrido Vargas y Chery Jiménez. Destacaron por sus innovadores arreglos y coreografías, convirtiéndose en un éxito internacional en los 80 y 90. A pesar de la separación en 1998 y la muerte de su líder Cherito en 2019, la banda continúa su legado.
