Un personaje iconoclasta y entrañable, John Willie, a veces apodado el "Rembrandt del Pulp", es el creador de la revista Bizarre y de Gwendoline, la mítica damisela en apuros con tacones altos.
Artista brillante, fue—y sigue siendo—el más grande dibujante de bondage y fetichismo. Espíritu libre, también fue, aunque menos conocido por ello, un ferviente defensor de las libertades sexuales.
