The symphonic works of Gustav Mahler are the focus of the 'Mahler Festival 2023', because it was in Leipzig that Mahler became the person we know today: the composer of fascinating symphonies. Leipzig and the Gewandhaus Orchestra promise a uniquely authentic setting for the festival, as Mahler spent two years of his life here and conducted the Gewandhaus Orchestra almost daily. To experience all of Gustav Mahler's symphonies and other works with 10 world-class orchestras and leading Mahler interpreters in the city where Mahler became a symphonic composer is unique.
