Mindfulness community practice for Black and Brown people in Barcelona
One of the best things that we can offer is our true presence. Plum Village tradition
True Presence Sangha is a dedicated mindfulness and community practice space for Black and Brown people.
Rooted in mindfulness, compassion, and racial justice, this sangha centres Black and Brown bodies as worthy of presence, rest, belonging, dignity, safety, and connection.
Host & Facilitator:
Hosted by: Sofia at Archer Lab
Facilitated by: Hawah Bunduka (Gentle Manifestation of the Source)
In Barcelona, Black and Brown people may experience invisibility, hyper-visibility, and fragmentation in everyday life. This space offers something simple and radical: a place to pause, breathe, reflect, and reconnect to self, to body, and to community. You are invited to bring your whole self. To rest. To listen deeply. To be held in collective practice. Whether you are new to mindfulness or retuing to practice, you are warmly welcome.
What to Expect:
Each 1-hour session draws on mindfulness and somatic practices that cultivate awareness, compassion, joy, and connection. Sessions may include:
Grounding practice
Seated meditation
Gentle movement / embodied mindfulness
Reflection or teaching
Community sharing
Closing practice
These practices support both personal wellbeing and the capacity to meet the world with clarity, courage, tendeess, and care. Facilitation is in English with the possibility of Spanish translation.
Lineage & Influences:
This space is rooted in the teachings of Thích Nht Hnh and the Plum Village tradition, alongside Black and Brown mindfulness practitioners including Ruth King, Valerie Brown, Kaira Jewel Lingo, Dr Larry Ward, and Dr Marisela Gomez. It is further shaped by liberatory approaches to embodiment, racial justice, decolonial healing, and somatic abolitionism, as well as our lived experiences and ancestral wisdom as Black and Brown peoples.
Hawah is a mindfulness practitioner, facilitator, artist, and social justice practitioner whose work centres healing, embodiment, liberation, and collective
care. In 2025, she completed BIJAH, a two-year training programme for BIPOC spiritual activists led by Kaira Jewel Lingo and Dr Marisela Gomez, she has been practising mindfulness for many years and took the five mindfulness trainings in 2022.
